Cardi B and Offset Spark Breakup Rumors After Unfollowing Each Other on Instagram
Is it over between Cardi B and Offset? Some fans seem to think so, after the two performers engaged in some telling social media behavior.
The couple—who have been married since 2017 and share kids Kulture, five, and Wave, two—sparked breakup rumors early this week after fans noticed they no longer follow each other on Instagram. Cardi later shared a cryptic message on her Instagram Story, which some interpreted as alluding to a split. In screenshots published by TMZ, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper wrote, “You know when you just out grow relationships.” In a second post to her Story, she added, “I’m tired of protecting peoples feelings...I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST!”
Offset also shared his own cryptic message on Instagram, posting a scene from Scarface in which Tony Montana yells at his friend and takes credit for their joint success, according to TMZ.
If the rumors are true, this wouldn’t be the first time the couple’s relationship has been on the rocks. Scandals and cheating allegations have plagued their on-and-off romance for years.

The two briefly split in December 2018 after Offset’s infidelity came to light, although they reunited a few months later.
“When me and my husband got into our issues—you know, he cheated and everything—and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me; a lot of women felt disappointed in me,” Cardi said in a 2019 interview. “But it’s real-life shit. If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you’re depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation.”
In September 2020, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset. Before they reconciled again, she explained the decision during an Instagram Live session: “I got tired of fucking arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye. When you feel like things aren’t the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I’d rather just leave.”
Then, earlier this year, Offset publicly accused Cardi of cheating on him—allegations she vehemently denied in a Twitter Spaces conversation. “Come on now. I’m fucking Cardi B,” she said, per E! News. “I think sometimes motherfuckers forget I’m Cardi B. If I was giving this pussy to anybody, it would be out. I’m not just anybody.”
The two appeared to bury the hatchet, with Cardi and Offset celebrating their six-year wedding anniversary this past September.
